Seven years ago, President George W. Bush was lambasted for inaction and incompetence in dealing with Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans and much of the Mississippi and Louisiana gulf coast.

To make that choice, you need to know more about me and about where I will lead our country.

I was born in the middle of the century in the middle of the country, a classic baby boomer. It was a time when Americans were returning from war and eager to work. To be an American was to assume that all things were possible. When President Kennedy challenged Americans to go to the moon, the question wasn't whether we'd get there, it was only when we'd get there.

For four long years we've waited, hoped and prayed that some young comic would break free of the politically correct demands of The State and mock Obama the way all presidents and all people in power should be mocked. But for four long years (with a few exceptions) all we've seen instead are cowardly toadies of The State: Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, David Letterman, Chris Rock, the cast of "Saturday Night Live"…

This evening, the Republican National Convention draws to a close and the hard work begins in earnest.  We have roughly nine weeks to take back the White House and the Senate, and to fight to preserve the GOP majority in the House.

Over the past two weeks, two exciting developments have taken place in my campaign to defeat Kirsten Gillibrand.  Last week, a SuperPac went on television with a 30-second ad and a six-figure statewide media buy. If you haven’t seen it, please click here to view it.

Left-leaning academics at Catholic colleges and universities are heading up the Obama’s campaign’s outreach to Catholics, according to Matthew Archbold:

Among those leading the group are several pro-abortion rights politicians along with faculty members at Catholic colleges including Sister Jamie Phelps, director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in New Orleans; Nicholas Cafardi, a canon and civil lawyer who teaches at the Duquesne Law School in Pittsburgh; Thomas Groome of Boston College, a theologian; and Stephen Schneck, director of the Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies at Catholic University of America.

A new survey of 900 registered Catholic voters holds devastating news for Barack Obama that cannot be overstated. It says the 54% of Catholic voter support he had in 2008 has dwindled to just 27% (MoE +/- 3 points), a historic low level that no one running for president can survive

Paul Ryan’s speech brought more than just cheers to the convention hall Wednesday night, it picked a fight.

The VP candidate’s speech had RNC delegates at a fever pitch from the beginning. It brought a packed convention arena to its feet with over a dozen standing ovations.  By many reports and reactions, Paul Ryan can count his keynote a resounding success.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) took to the Republican National Convention stage on Tuesday and wasted no time getting to the theme of the night.

"Don't tell me that my parents didn't build their business," Haley, a daughter of Indian immigrants said, referring to the GOP's oft-repeated reference to a heavily edited quote from President Barack Obama about the part domestic infrastructure played in the development and success of small businesses.

TAMPA, FLA. — Given that conventions have essentially turned into coronations and media pageants, one of the only real purposes they still serve is to provide a launching pad for rising political stars to put their face in front of a national audience (before the Democratic convention in 2004, Barack Obama was just another junior senator).

What it boiled down to, though, was exactly what you would expect from a hopelessly corrupt institution determined to drag a failed president over the finish line: Unconscionable race-baiting, cynicism, and the use of Hurricane Isaac to selectively ignore some of the conventions best moments for the GOP. For instance, CNN refused to broadcast speeches given by Republican governors in crucial swing states. You'll also read how ABC News released a hit poll just as Ann Romney took the stage and NBC's Brian Williams opened the night with RAPE!

Ann Romney entered the Tampa Bay Times Forum to thunderous applause and cheers. FOR YOUR ANALYSIS AND CONSIDERATION: One standing political rule in operation the past 3 ½ years has been: NO ONE is allowed to question the statements of Mr. Obama, and if one does violate this rule then that person is castigated unmercifully.  Mentioned below are some statements that are publicly being questioned, and which should have been asked long ago.  Terry Anderson, a black Los Angeles, California radio talk show host, wrote a partial list of statements then Senator Obama said that aren’t exactly correct.  The pattern established by Mr. Obama hasn’t changed one iota. Beginning as a U.S. Senator and then placed into the highest office in the land, Mr. Obama has just not had to concern himself with the truth.  Chosen to fulfill a mission of neutralizing America and bringing the United States of America into “just another country” in the New-World Order, Obama believes he is above any controversy, above any questions, above any responsibility.  Mr. Anderson dared to break the political rule!

“Mass Shooting at Empire State Building,” the headlines blared.

“Two dead and nine wounded in rampage shooting,” we were told.

Even after it became apparent that the “gunman” had probably shot only one person, a former employer who he had threatened a year earlier – and that the rest of the victims were shot by police – the news stories and pundits continued to refer to this “latest mass shooting” and postulating on how politicians would or should respond.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. claims Jim Crow is returning. In a recent speech, Mr. Holder said that attempts by states to pass voter identification laws will disenfranchise minorities, rolling back the clock to the evil days of segregation. He said that a growing number of minorities fear that “the same disparities, divisions and problems” now afflict America as they did in 1965 prior to the Voting Rights Act. According to the Obama administration, our democracy is being threatened by racist Republicans. Hence, the Justice Department must prevent laws requiring a photo ID to vote from being enacted.

New York, New York -- U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long joined Cardinal Timothy Dolan and other people of faith and principle across New York in denouncing today's implementation of the Obamacare provision forcing employers to provide contraception, sterilization, and abortion drugs in their healthcare plans. Long called on Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to seek waivers from the Obama Health and Human Services Department (HHS) on behalf of New York employers to protect their constitutional right of religious freedom.

"Do boys give you the dreamy eye?"

"Are you a flirt?"

"Have you ever kissed a boy?"

If a carer asked these questions, I would be complaining to management in no uncertain terms.

NEW YORK, August 7, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Since LifeSiteNews.com broke the news that President Barack Obama had accepted the invitation to speak at the major fundraiser for New York Catholic Charities in October (the website for the event now also lists Mitt Romney as a speaker), there has been much discussion over the president’s upcoming appearance.  While calls for comment into the Archdiocese of New York have not been returned, a blog featured on the main page of the archdiocesan website defends the invite of Obama to the October 18 Al Smith Dinner as “important in this time of pathologically toxic politics.”

Documents obtained by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, indicate that General Services Administration (GSA) officials, with approval from the Obama administration, ordered local law enforcement officers to stand down and not arrest Occupy Portland protesters after they seemingly broke the law last year.

I am President Obama’s classmate at Columbia University, Class of ’83. I am also one of the most accurate Las Vegas oddsmakers and prognosticators. Accurate enough that I was awarded my own star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. And I smell something rotten in Denmark. Obama has a big skeleton in his closet. It’s his college records. Call it “gut instinct” but my gut is almost always right. Obama has a secret hidden at Columbia- and it’s a bad one that threatens to bring down his presidency. Gut instinct is how I’ve made my living for 29 years since graduating Columbia.

The frontrunner for this year's Democrat presidential nomination burst upon the scene from out of nowhere only in recent months. Two or three years ago, Barrack Hussein Obama was an unknown outside his Chicago bailiwick and in some other Illinois quarters. Even his time in the Illinois State Senate was unremarkable.

The transformation of Chick Fil A from a fast food place that most liberals had never even heard of into the "Enemy of the People" is a reminder of the speed at which progressivism travels forward and backward in time. A few months ago the CEO of Chick Fil A would have done nothing worse than echo a consensus so mainstream that it was adopted as a campaign position by the leftiest Democrat to sit in the White House. A few months later that same position is so outrageous that it leads to mass boycotts, threats of violence and mayors of dysfunctional urban centers threatening to drive the reactionary chicken franchise out of their cities.

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 3, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) –  The owner of a Catholic family business that won an injunction against the HHS mandate is speaking out, saying the Obama administration argued that faithful Catholics had no right to practice their faith in their own businesses.

Paul Newland said for his family, “faith is not a two-hours-on-Sunday-morning event. It’s a lifestyle that we live – and have for 50 years.”

When the New York Post puts a fast food chicken franchise on page one, you know some feathers have been ruffled, so to speak. And, indeed, the Chick-fil-A outfit can forget about catering any gay marriage receptions, because the company's president, Dan Cathy, recently told an Atlanta radio station that by supporting gay nuptials, America is "inviting God's wrat

While testifying to the House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on the Constitution, U.S. Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez refused to say that the U.S. would never advance a proposal that criminalizes the right to free speech in regards to criticizing religion.

When asked over and over again the question by Rep. Trent Frank (R-AZ): "Will you tell us here today that this Administration's Department of Justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that criminalizes speech against any religion?" Perez balked at answering any such question.

Progressive organizations behind White House policy have crafted specific, second-term plans for President Obama to transform the U.S. Armed Forces into a social work-style organization designed to combat “global warming,” fight global poverty, remedy “injustice,” bolster the United Nations and increase “peacekeeping” forces worldwide.

President Obama is not a fan of America’s suburbs. Indeed, he intends to abolish them. With suburban voters set to be the swing constituency of the 2012 election, the administration’s plans for this segment of the electorate deserve scrutiny. Obama is a longtime supporter of “regionalism,” the idea that the suburbs should be folded into the cities, merging schools, housing, transportation, and above all taxation. To this end, the president has already put programs in place designed to push the country toward a sweeping social transformation in a possible second term. The goal: income equalization via a massive redistribution of suburban tax money to the cities.

A group of Black pastors held a press conference Tuesday opposing President Obama’s position of same-sex marriage. The Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) called the President’s stance “disgraceful” and has launched a marriage petition in a nation-wide campaign to rallying African Americans to withdraw support from the President. In May, President Obama announced that he supports same -sex marriage- and this year’s Democratic National Convention; gay marriage language will be included in the party platform.
