Maybe your child's "holiday" concert at school includes Kwanzaa songs these days.  Our elementary school did.  One grade each year was assigned that holiday, with a young student offering a brief explanation of what Kwanzaa is about, dressing in appropriate Kwanzaa accessories, and singing Kwanzaa songs.

There is probably no one more qualified for the White House than Sarah Palin. But is she electable?

Sarah Palin continues to galvanize the imagination of both her ardent supporters and her hectoring adversaries. It is easy to understand her appeal to those who have rallied behind her and her possible candidacy for the office of president of the United States. She has a lot going for her: charm, personableness, natural smarts, moral probity, executive competence, independence of character, and a passionate love of country. These are undeniable advantages, or should be in any sane political environment.

Many in our society, instead of taking on the responsibility of preserving their freedoms, have instead handed it over to the  trappings of government. The fatal error here is obvious; the corporatized and over-centralized political landscape of America’s  government today does not hold the same values as the people it is determined to lord over. We have witnessed the parasitic  possession of our system, know it to be corrupt, yet still seem to expect this bureaucratic monstrosity to cradle our liberties  in good faith!..... The question is, how much are we willing to endure to see that our ideals survive? How hard are we
willing to work? How much of our time, effort, and energy are we willing to expend? If the answer is not “all of it”,  then we have failed already. What we have covered so far is the present situation, and by no means does it have to continue.  When drawing a line in the sand, that line must first be drawn within. We must promise ourselves that it is here we will not bend,  we will not lose balance, we will not be thrown. All liberty depends most on this.

Liberals never tire of discussing their own generosity, particularly when demanding that the government take your money by force to fund shiftless government employees overseeing counterproductive government programs.

They seem to have replaced "God" with "Government" in scriptural phrases such as "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37)

This week, we'll take a peek at the charitable giving of these champions of the poor.

I would like to ask the following question concerning today's double standard society thrust upon Americans;

If New York had a Governor, who was white, and pardoned a convicted white man, for the killing a 17 year old black teenager, what would be happening at this moment. At this time, I want to remind every American of the veto power of the Presidential position at the end of his/her term as President, and remind you to begin preparing yourself. I also would like to suggest that Americans begin to review all of the pardons handed out by Bill Clinton at the end of his term. See below for information limited as it is by the controlled press concerning the 26 pardons handed out by the appointed (not elected) New York Governor for Christmas. Keep in mind the information below is a press release from the Governor's office so the information is slanted to the positive, leaving out alot of the true details and history of the individuals. Hopefully Americans will give thought to these matters and powers granted to elected officials when they vote in elections. My question is unbiased, and straightforward. I leave it to you to answer and give thought to.  ~ Ricki D.

Preparations are underway in the United States and the nations of Europe to celebrate Christmas first and foremost as a tribute to materialism.  These increasingly agnostic and secular societies have chosen to ignore the existence of God and have instead placed more and more trust in man.  The consequence of this misguided reliance and the reality of God's outstretched helping hand is embodied in the story of a young boy from the streets of a nameless city in an unknown country.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — In a federal courtroom Thursday, Judge Roger Vinson questioned how far Congress’s authority would go if it can legally require nearly all Americans to purchase health insurance.

A Patriots testimony and good wishes:
Dear Patriotic Friends,
A friend recently sent me this picture and I thought I would make it my Christmas card to you all.  It was taken at a rally near the US Senate buildings in Washington DC last December.   Like you all that is how I've been spending my free time...defending our liberty.  I would not have it any other way because I have nine grandchildren to answer to regarding what becomes of our country.
I want you to know that it is a privilege to work with you and to keep you in touch with what is happening and what we are trying to do about it.  After I write and telephone senators, etc and go to rallies and go door to door, I PRAY.   You are all in my prayers and I hope you have warm and wonderful Christmas and all the best in 2011.
With love,
Alicia

America continues to confuse the world. The U.S. is both economically developed and highly religious. The Senate unexpectedly approved food safety legislation by unanimous consent Sunday evening, rescuing a bill that floated in limbo for weeks because of a clerical error.

The Senate passed the Food Safety and Modernization Act on Nov. 30 by a vote of 73-25. There are now, and long have been, two variations on the Christmas theme. There is the version in which Christmas is a largely commercial enterprise. At its best, this version of Christmas is an exercise in generosity and an opportunity to turn away from professional pursuits and remember the fundamental importance of family. At its worst, it is an unseemly weeks-long binge of expenditure and acquisition, an exercise in rank consumerist materialism, where we do not celebrate the power of God so much as we observe and demonstrate our faith in the power of advertising and credit cards.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., backed off threats today to force a reading of the New START arms-reduction treaty after the White House assailed the delay tactic as a “new low.”

Senate leaders had estimated that a full reading of the accord could take 15 hours, which would have thrown a wrench into ambitious plans to finish work on New START, an omnibus spending bill, and several other pieces of legislation before the Senate adjourns for the year.

The Senate plans to work through the weekend to ratify the New START Treaty and a trillion-dollar spending bill to keep the government running.

The upper chamber is expected to vote on final passage of the tax package shortly after noon Wednesday, which will clear the way for debate to begin on the nuclear arms treaty and the 1,924-page spending bill.  “We’ll see how things go with this treaty, but it’s clear — I have spoken on many occasions with the Republican leader — we’re going to be in session this Sunday,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Wednesday morning. “There is work to do.”

When House Democrats last week passed the DREAM Act before the Senate had staged its vote, the timing was no accident.

Instead, the chronology was part of a carefully designed strategy — orchestrated, with some tension, between the two chambers — to grant the proposal its greatest shot at success. The fast-evolving process required behind-the-scenes scheduling changes; an eleventh-hour hearing; constant lobbying from supporters; and a risky-but-successful show of procedural gymnastics in the Senate — all aimed at lending momentum to the hot-button bill in hopes of enacting it by month's end.  In short, supporters say, the process has infused life into the policy.
